FREEDOM FROM WORLDLY POSSESSIONS

Text:Gen 14:8-24, 24:34-35
There is nothing so awful  in the sight of God about our deprave human nature as this innate tendencies to want to possess everything we have received from God.
These crave for possession and position are the reasons why the world (as well as the church )has become so unimaginably corrupt as everyone  is now desperately crazy for the accumulation of material possessions.
Sometimes people who do that give a seemingly logical explanation -to keep  either  for one's children  or for the raining day.
Our world today is invested with greed and covetousness because of the insatiable desire to possess all things, thinking that when that is achieved they shall have joy.
Yet the secret of an unending joy is having all things and yet possessing nothing.
Abraham had all things (Gen 24:34-35)
that the world is running after yet he was free from the temptation of possessing any.
But that did not happen automatically. It was the outcome of his MT. Moriah encounter with God where he was ask to sacrifice his only begotten son.
It was on that Mt. he had all his Idols burnt. There he gave the Son (Isaac) that he loved.
